Animal Care Technician - Boston, MA & San Francisco, CA

We are looking for an Animal Care Technician. This entry-level position reports to the Manager Vivarium Solutions, and is responsible for the daily care of research animals, including feeding, watering, cage changing, maintaining a clean work environment, and monitoring the overall health of the animals. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, dedication to providing clean living spaces, and flexibility in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You will function as part of a team, and your contribution will be valued. Position Responsibilities: ● Perform routine animal husbandry (cage change, food/water, health monitoring). ● Prepare and submit records, census sheets, room logs, cage cards, and inventories. ● Sanitize and decontaminate all areas of the facility. ● Follow room entry order and biosafety procedures. ● Dispose of waste following appropriate SOPs and waste streams. ● Receive, identify, and properly house incoming animal shipments according to SOPs. ● Maintain animal racks and support equipment. ● Assist with ordering, receipt, and stocking of all supply inventories. ● May perform basic animal health treatments with direction from the veterinary staff. ● Understand and follow SOPs, safety procedures, and quality assurance guidelines for animal care at all levels of biohazard containment (BSLI and BSLII). ● Perform daily animal health surveillance checks and report any abnormal conditions of either the animals or the animal room environment to client, veterinary staff, and direct supervisory staff. ● Maintain a daily animal cage census in assigned animal rooms. ● Humanely euthanize animals as requested or required. ● Perform other duties under supervision, as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: ● Manual dexterity, ability to write legibly and ability to operate a computer (Office, Gmail) and telephone. ● Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision. ● Ability to understand light to moderately complex SOPs and protocols. ● Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs; bend, stoop, climb, and stand for a prolonged periods of time. ● Be able to wear full Personal Protective Equipment for several hours per day (face mask, coveralls, gloves) Education & Experience: ● Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. ● Animal husbandry experience preferred. ● Experience in animal care and/or research involving mammals. We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Manufacturing Engineer to help drive improvements and be a leader within our manufacturing operations at our North Sioux City, South Dakota facility. This role requires strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across functional teams. Key responsibilities include developing and leading internal processes to optimize manufacturing and supporting the acquisition and implementation of new equipment encompassing various technologies. Contributions will include Project Management, Design, Setup, Installation and Maintenance of equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to mechanical projects aimed at superior production performance and reliability. This includes supporting current processes, establishing new ones, and contributing to company-wide automated production initiatives to boost business results and deliver exceptional products. Position Responsibilities: ● Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors. ● Improves manufacturing processes by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. ● Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve efficiency and reduce waste. ● Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions. ● Collaborate with operations on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational performance. ● Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. ● Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services. ● Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. This highly visible role serves as the on-site HR partner for employees and leaders, working closely with company leadership to foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment. As a trusted resource for both employees and managers, the Senior Site Human Resource Manager plays a key role in ensuring HR practices support business objectives while promoting employee engagement, compliance, and professional development. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer based at our company headquarters in San Diego, California, and collaborates regularly with both site leadership and the corporate HR team (also based in San Diego) to ensure consistent, compliant, and people-focused HR support.
